The following websites provided by the Government and other organisations contain a wealth of information concerning long term care including state funding and benefits, finding a care home and disability issues.

The Care Quality Commission

This is the new health and social care regulator for England. It contains information about finding and using care services and also has a directory containing independent reports and quality ratings about the care homes in your chosen area.

Directgov

This is the website provided by the UK government for its citizens, and provides easy access to government information and services all in one place. This site contains information about all benefits and you can also download the necessary forms which come complete with notes and an address to send to when completed.

Disability Alliance

Disability Alliance is a national registered charity with the principal aim of relieving the poverty and improving the living standards of disabled people.

They are best-known as the authors of the "Disability Rights Handbook", an annual publication that contains clear and concise information on the welfare benefits and tax credits systems, as well as other areas such as social and residential care and a range of other issues relevant to disabled people, their families and carers. They also provide many free and practical factsheets related to these issues.
